Gong Xi Fat Chai – Happy Rooster Year

On the 31st of January, Nursery students had a Chinese New Year celebration. Laoshi gave explanations about the story behind Chinese New Year and how Chinese people traditionally celebrate it: the decoration (lantern), food (Nian Gao), outfit (cheongsam), etc. After the presentation, students watched the lion dance, performed by their teachers. It was a great opportunity for the students to experience cultural event where they were able to courageously give angpao to ‘the lion’.

Furthermore, to develop students’ fine motor and artistic skills, they made a rooster artwork which they happily brought home afterwards.
